Jess and Charlotte's Lodge Farm House Wedding

Two brides, two emotional dads, a veil that went vertical in the wind and a tipi party that never slowed down. Jess and Charlotte's summer wedding.

Two brides laugh as they walk up a matting aisle through cheering guests, a veil blowing across them and a brick farmhouse behind.

I’d been looking forward to this one for ages.

I first met Jess and Charlotte at their pre-wedding shoot. Then summer came round, and off I went to Lodge Farm House in Herefordshire.

The morning

Tears started early. Two brides getting ready in different rooms meant I spent the morning running between them.

One of my favourite moments? The reveals to their dads. So emotional, and so heartfelt.

Black and white of a smiling man in a tuxedo with his hands on a bride’s shoulders as a woman in a fascinator watches from the doorway.

The wind

The weather stayed dry, which was lucky. The wind, though. Crazy. It added a bit of drama to almost every photo.

Charlotte’s veil went almost vertical as she walked down the aisle. Not something you can plan. Exactly the kind of thing I love.

Black and white of a bride from behind walking along a garden path, her long veil blown out sideways by the wind.

The ceremony

The ceremony had everyone reaching for tissues.

Two brides kiss at the end of the aisle on the lawn as seated guests clap and cheer, the farmhouse behind them.

Then a high-energy drinks reception that kept everyone entertained. While guests sat down for dinner in the tipis, I sneaked Jess and Charlotte into the old barn. A few quiet portraits, just the three of us.

Two brides hold each other in the doorway of a dark timber barn, backlit, their long trains spread across the floor.

Speeches and bingo

The speeches were a highlight. Both dads stood up and got the whole room crying.

Then Jess and Charlotte surprised everyone with a joint speech that turned into a game of bingo. Every single guest got involved.

Two brides laugh at the top table in front of a dried flower arch, one holding her speech notes and the other a microphone.

The party

The evening was full of energy. The band, Urban Juke Box, had everyone on their feet, and the tipi turned into one big dance floor.

Two brides dance in the middle of a packed tipi as friends cheer, film on their phones and raise their arms around them.

Before I left, I grabbed a couple of dramatic shots of the two of them with the tipis lit up behind. Not a bad way to finish.

Two brides kiss at night in front of tipis lit pink and blue, the dark sky speckled with light.

I feel really grateful I got to be part of Jess and Charlotte’s day.

In their words

“We can NOT stop looking through our photos!!! We are happier than we could ever ever imagine. We adore them. Latzo simply is THE BEST. Words cant how happy we have been with Latzo since meeting him for our engagement shoot we knew we had made the right choice. However….on the day everyone was just in awe of how he just settled in, made everyone feel at ease, yet went above and beyond to get the most unreal natural shots.

All of our family and friends have said how amazing he was throughout - it was like he was part of the wedding guests almost instantly…everyone has also agreed how the photos capture the day perfectly. Latzo, we love you and your work. For anyone else, if you are reading this because you are considering Latzo for your wedding…DO IT…and thank me later”
